Source: Pam Bondi assures DOJ will ‘fight back’ against ‘unelected’ judges
Attorney General Pam Bondi pushed back against the “outrageous” judges who have issued rulings against the Trump administration’s work to downsize the government, assuring that she and the Justice Department will “fight back.”
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the administration will “look at the judges” in the wake of recent rulings, such as the Department of Government Efficiency getting barred from the Treasury Department’s payment system. In explaining Trump’s comment, Bondi argued that “unelected judges” are attempting to control government spending, despite how there is “a clear separation of powers.”
When Bondi was told that the president could not “go after” judges over decisions, the attorney general said the administration could appeal them. She added that her team is already appealing a decision and that it will go to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary to combat the “outrageous, overzealous, unconstitutional judges.”
Amid these legal setbacks to the Trump administration, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) has similarly contended that Trump’s team will win these legal arguments and that the judicial decisions are “just a matter of delay.” He then predicted that these delays would last no more than two weeks.
Amid Elon Musk and the DOGE’s work to downsize the government, the Washington Examiner’s Byron York assessed that they are doing more than just “firing people” with their work, they are also seeking to make the government work more efficiently.
