California is planning construction of 13-mile long reservoir to solve its water crisis. Scores of people are set to see their homes flooded to make way for the construction of an enormous California reservoir which officials hope will help solve the area’s water crisis.
The 13-mile long basin in Colusa County will eventually provide water to 24 million Californians when it is complete in 2032.
However, the $4 billion project will also see dozens of homes flattened in the process.
Almost 70 people will be displaced from the Antelope Valley, where the reservoir will be located.
The mammoth project, called Sites Reservoir, has been 45 years in the making and comes in response to the increasing threat of drought in the Golden State.
